Barking Frog restaurant

I was so impressed with the food and service at Woodinville’s Barking Frog Restaurant when Carrie and I ate there, that I went back the following week with my fiance, James. It was a pleasant surprise when we arrived and found out they have a brand new Fall menu.

Executive chef, Bobby Moore welcomed us at the door and allowed me to take his photo. It was so great to meet him!

oysters, Barking Frog restaurant

First off, major shoutout to CT, who was our server on both occasions. He was amazing and made so many wonderful wine and food pairings for us to try. The dry, J. Laurens Brut De Limoux was a perfect way to enjoy these fresh Kusshi oysters.

beet salad, Barking Frog

For our next starter, we ordered the beet and cambozola cheese salad, which had delicious pistachio cake, confit orange and coffee oil in it. I think we paired this with a vin santo, but in my excitement, I regrettably did not write it down.

Mark Ryan Pinot NoirHere is a view f the sparkling wine and for my dinner pairing, I ordered a glass of Mark Ryan Megan Anne Pinot Noir, to keep it local!

Salmon special, Fall menu at Barking Frog

The salmon special was exquisite for my main dish! The fish literally melted in my mouth and the pea vines and apricots were incredible. Smashed new potatoes and a pistachio crema rounded it out.

Half chicken dinner at barking frogJames ordered the half chicken for his entree. He loved it and was very happy with his choice. The mashed potatoes were also very good. With his dinner, James ordered a sparkling Rosé, and this was a perfect pairing with the crispy chicken skin.

creme brulee, Barking Frog

We could not pass up the brand new Fall Dessert menu! CT told us that pastry chef, Mark Kelley had just sampled the desserts with the Barking Frog staff that evening. This was one of the best creme brulees I have ever eaten.

d'affinos cheesecake mousse dessert, barking frog

We also ordered this d’affinios cheesecake mousse which was topped with green apple sorbet, frosted walnuts, candied fennel, shredded wheat, and charred date. CT helped us with a delicious pairing of dessert wines including a sauterne.

This was an amazing night at Barking Frog and we will definitely be back there again soon. The highlight for me was the service. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to give us an incredible dining experience.

Barking Frog restaurant is open daily from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm for brunch (first come, first served only) and for dinner from 4 – 9 pm. Reservations can be made by calling (425) 424-2999.
