This year we are definitely gong to miss hosting a Galentine’s party with our favorite ladies, however, we were still feeling like creating a fantastic Valentine’s Day dessert board to share with you (even if it is only virtual). Carrie and I decided to each enjoy at home with our respective families and then gift the wrapped candies and gourmet chocolate bars to friends when we were done photographing our treats. Take a look at what I decided to throw together with a little help from my Valentine’s Day wine and chocolate fairy!

I figured out quickly that my existing charcuterie boards were not going to be large enough for this project, so I decided to use a mirror that I purchased at Home Goods. You can find a similar one here. It worked awesome for this giant dessert board!
I tried to mix in some fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries to balance out all of the sweets. I ate mostly fresh raspberries and this delicious strawberry shortcake layer cake from the Original Cakerie.
Another family favorite were these raspberry shortbread cookies from Trader Joe’s. They are so good! Scattered behind them are the the Amazon Fresh frosted mini cupcakes, these were devoured by my kids before I even had a chance to try one!
I like to incorporate different shapes and heights to my charcuterie or dessert boards. For this one, I added a simple pink cake stand and layered Fran’s mint chocolates, with watermelon rings, pecan truffle cookies and Skinny Dipped Lemon Bliss yogurt covered almonds. The strawberries would have looked better had I cut them into heart shapes… I wish I had thought of it earlier!
I knew that these pretty chocolate bars would be great to gift, so I decided not to unwrap them. We used the Double Distilled Mint and San Juan Sea Salt bars from Seattle Chocolate company, Raaka’s Pink Sea Salt and Bourbon Cask Aged dark chocolate bars from the Chocolate library gift box, to name a few.
When I was finished putting this together I let my eager family know they could dig in and I poured a nice glass of Darby Winery Rose (from the tap in their Woodinville tasting room!). It was so fun putting this wine and dessert pairing together, I can’t wait until next year when I can (finger crossed!) invite all my friends over to enjoy along with me.
Cheers!
