Alright, we know we are primarily wine bloggers. But after a long “hard” week of tasting so many wonderful Washington wines, sometimes we just want to go home, get in pajamas, light a fire in the fireplace and make some Manhattans and Old Fashioneds!
We discovered these fabulous bitters for our cocktails at Metropolitan Market in Sammamish. The Bitter Housewife is based in Oregon (our neighbors to the south!) They specialize in small-batch bitters for heightening flavors in your cocktails.
I haven’t been adventurous enough yet to try their Cardamom bitters, but I’ve tasted the rest and decided Old-Fashioned Aromatic Bitters is my favorite of their flavors. Next summer, I want to try their Lime Coriander bitters.

Of course, we recommend Woodinville Whiskey’s bourbon, rye or whiskey for your cocktails!
