Cave B Estate Winery in Woodinville was the first local tasting room I ever visited, a few summers back. I went with friends to hear a musician perform on the back patio while we tasted cold white wine on a hot summer day – a recipe for a fun afternoon!
We love their spacious outdoor patio, friendly staff, and their large selection of wine varietals. Often in the summer, they’ll have live music on the patio on Fridays and on weekends.
Jen and I visited the Eastern Washington Cave B Estate Winery last summer during our fabulous stay at Cave B Resort. (That hotel is no longer owned by the winery’s founders, but the Cave B Estate Winery tasting room is located on site).
Their white wines include a Blanc de Blanc, Cavewoman White, a Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Cuveé Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Dry Rosé, Riesling, Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and a Viognier.
We’ve been so impressed and delighted with their delicious white wines. I serve them at parties and frequently run out and have to dash back to the tasting room to resupply my wine cupboard!
Their red wine varietals include a fantastic Barbera, their Cabernet Sauvignon, Caveman Red, Cabernet Franc, Cuvee du Soleil, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo (Carrie’s favorite wine from Cave B), and the mysterious wine called “Order of the Cave.”
The winemaker since 2006 is Freddy Arredondo. The Cave B wine club offers shipments twice or four times yearly, plus a wine-club only wine “Order of the Cave.”
