When I told my two teenage daughters, Claire and Natalie, that Carrie and I needed them to join us on a winery tour so that they could help us wrangle photography equipment, they were surprisingly thrilled! We embarked on a road trip to Cave B Inn near Quincy, Washington.
The girls enjoyed exploring the vineyards on the way between the hotel’s main buildings and the yurts.
We were there mid-week, so the yurt village was quiet and uncrowded.
Here are Claire and Natalie in their element. They thought that getting to stay in the yurt was the coolest thing I have suggested in a long time, and told me that it felt like their very own “cool apartment”.
I had read about these desert yurts prior to our visit, and I had high expectations. The interior was much more polished than I had anticipated!
The yurt was appointed with thoughtful touches such as throw blankets, a refrigerator, air conditioning, curtains, and a comfy seating area.
We’d wondered about the bathroom situation in the yurts, and were pleasantly surprised by the clean and modern amenities. Also, there were no signs of snakes, bugs or spiders!
Carrie and I indulged in some Cave B Estate Winery wine from the tasting room on the property, but my girls had to make do with sparkling water and sodas.
It felt so magical to experience sunset from the yurt’s front porch, overlooking the vineyards.
