Sunday Lunch at Woodinville Cut Shop

Last Sunday, my friend Serret from Serretabella Images mentioned she had to clear out of her house for the day so realtors could show her house to potential buyers. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to kidnap her for a day of wine tasting and shenanigans in Woodinville.

Serret unbelievably hadn’t been to the Woodinville Cut Shop yet, so I immediately rectified the situation. On Sundays, the Cut Shop offers a slightly different menu. I wouldn’t quite call it “brunch” but close enough – you can get a fried egg sandwich, mimosas and bellinis, and of course, Bloody Marys.

When we arrived, I was delighted to see their new outdoor patio furniture has arrived since my last visit!

I had to try out one of the new patio tables, but soon I cowardly ran back into the nice air-conditioned restaurant for shade, vittles and libations.

Serret took a minute to pause and admire the vibrant Vietnam war-themed mural.

There’s a lot of intriguing artwork placed around the Cut Shop – take a look next time you’re in.

My cocktail this time was the Deep Purple. It was the perfect way to start off a blistering hot Sunday fun day.

I know it’s a little strange to have a Sunday morning cocktail on the way to wine tasting. But that’s how I roll.

Serret got quite a kick out of the mural of 1970s action star Steve McQueen.

Serret ordered a bellini from our extremely friendly female bartender.

I can tell it immediately put her up to mischief.

We weren’t quite in a breakfasty mood, so Serret ordered the wedge salad on my recommendation. It’s much bigger than I remember – it’s huge! Serret wasn’t able to finish it and was sad to leave part of it behind (we thought the lettuce would wilt uncontrollably in my hot car, sadly). I’d already eaten a big breakfast, so just enjoyed my drink and a few stolen hush puppies from Serret’s order.

Of course I insisted she try the Jalapeno hush puppies. The bartender pointed out the hush puppies are now smaller and easier to pop into your mouth than before.

Serret absolutely loved the Cut Shop and raved about how cool it was here. She can’t wait to bring her boyfriend Jason back here soon! I love helping people find their favorite hangout places, so I’m extra glad we stopped by.
