One thing I love about having a social circle with entrepreneur friends, teacher friends and retired friends is that you can invite a couple ladies over for a spontaneous afternoon tea party (or in my case, wine party) on the spur of the moment. Sure, not everybody can accept the invitation on short notice, but sometimes they can. Here’s a little party I set up recently while I still had my pink tent up in the backyard!
I had a strawberry cake I’d recently purchased at QFC in Redmond, and a bottle of Mark Ryan Winery’s “Board Track Racer Cellars” 2017 Rosé I’d been dying to open and try out.
I’d just recently purchased this cute bicycle planter at the Woodinville HomeGoods and suddenly thought it might make a fabulous ice bucket. After all, if the planter can withstand water and dirt from a plant, surely it could be used as an ice bucket as well. Well, this is actually a tricycle planter!
Now, I am fully aware that board track racing is a motorsport – for motorcycles, not bicycles! However, I liked the juxtaposition of old and new – vintage bicycle, displaying modern motorcycle. Call me weird!
Later, I set out iced tea and water, nuts and olives, cheese and crackers and fruit for our nibbles too. I was fairly certain, however, that my friends would immediately prioritize eating that beautiful cake!
I would normally fill the little bucket with way more ice to keep the Rosé chilled longer, but wanted you to see the cute The Vincent Rosé label.
You can find darling little bicycle and tricycle planters on Amazon if you don’t see one you like at HomeGoods.
Hope you are also entertaining outdoors in our sunny weather as often as you like!
