Enjoying Wine and Great Music at Woodhouse on Wednesday Night

On Wednesdays, my friend Wendy’s husband volunteers at the USO at Seattle-Tacoma airport; and my boyfriend has a guys’ night and goes to a local bar for beer, fish & chips. So sometimes Wendy and I get together for a girls night out. She really likes live music, but isn’t much of a wine drinker usually.

I figured (rightfully so) that The Woodhouse Wine Estates would be the kind of place she might enjoy spending a couple hours. They’re one of the very few Woodinville tasting rooms open in the evening on Wednesday (and offering food). They start their Happy Hour Wednesdays at 6pm. How convenient that it’s also #WineWednesday!?

We expected it to be really crowded, but were easily able to find a table to share. Several other tables were full of people tasting wine, eating flatbread, or nibbling on cheese plates. A friendly member of the tasting room staff came over to see if we wanted any glass pours. Wendy ordered a glass of Rosé, in the mood for something light and spring-themed.

I was eager to try the Kennedy Shah 2017 Rosé as well, so I ordered the same thing. We’d just eaten dinner over at the Woodinville Cut Shop, but I still peeked at the food menu to see what might be available on future outings. I was glad to see a Caprese flatbread, and I bet my boyfriend would order the chicken BBQ flatbread.

Wendy said if I was going to insist on taking her picture, it was only fair for her to take one of me! It’s taking all my restraint not to Photoshop out my smeared mascara – we must have been laughing a lot that night – I promise I wasn’t drinking wine and crying! (Although I’ll admit I was pretty sad to find out the Kennedy Shah Picnic wine was already sold out…)

In the background you can see people out enjoying the nice weather on the Woodhouse Wine Estates patio. I love that they kept the garage style door open for the entire evening. It was only a teensy bit cold where we sat, and was worth it for the nice fresh spring evening air.

Tonight the musician was Javier Anderson, who plays fabulous jazz, salsa, pop and funk style music. His songs were so fun to listen to!

You can find out more about Javier and his music at www.javiermusik.com or at Facebook.com/javiermusik.

Wendy enjoyed the Kennedy Shah Rosé and when we left at the end of the evening, said she felt really relaxed and had enjoyed herself.

The Woodhouse Wine Estates is located at 15500 Woodinville-Redmond Road Northeast C600, Woodinville, WA 98072.

Their live music on Wednesdays is from 6pm to 9pm. Be sure to check their Events page for all the other cool things they’re up to in May!
