Recently, my friend Rebecca and I were able to carve out some time for a gossip-filled girls luncheon together. We couldn’t have chosen a better day – a Saturday lunch that happened to take place on an unseasonably warm, sunny day in late winter! We’ve been yearning for Spring, so being able to eat lunch outdoors and not freeze our butts off was a real treat.
We’d driven by The Commons and Purple Cafe Woodinville, but both were jam packed with other people trying to enjoy lunch before (presumably) going wine tasting like we were. Rebecca was in good hands though, since I’m a local and knew to drive around to Bistro at Hollywood Schoolhouse where there’s plenty of parking, a lovely patio with fire pit, great service, and good food. And no crowds of people!
Rebecca made me proud by immediately ordering a glass of red wine to enjoy with her pre-wine-tasting lunch.
I figured as our designated driver for the day, I’d be better off starting with an iced tea and participating in just one wine tasting later!
I’m trying to eat healthier, so I was very grateful that Bistro at Hollywood Schoolhouse offers this simple and fresh house salad.
I’m a lifelong vegetarian, so I appreciated that the Bistro is happy to change their BLTA into an LTA with Egg for me! And their French fries are among the best in the area. (So much for my attempt to eat healthy, I ate almost all my fries!)
Rebecca ordered either the Lamb burger or Derby burger, I can’t tell from the photo!
We enjoyed catching up in the sunshine and our leisurely lunch. Keep an eye out for my next post about Rebecca’s first Woodinville wine tasting!
