Sparkman Cellars 2014 “Ruckus” Syrah
This year we’ve tasted so many delicious wines made from grapes grown on Washington State’s Red Mountain: Avennia, Brian Carter Cellars, DeLille, Efeste, Fidelitas, Gorman, JM Cellars, Lachini, and Mark Ryan, for example. We’ve become really curious about Washington State’s smallest American Viticultural Area: Red Mountain, named for the dark red colored cheatgrass that blooms there in the springtime.
We’ve been doing a lot of reading to educate ourselves about this region where so much delicious Washington wine begins its journey into our wine glasses. We thought we’d share the articles and resources we’ve been learning from with you in case some of you are interested in learning more about Red Mountain AVA as well!
Pour a nice glass of wine from your favorite local Woodinville tasting room, and let’s get reading!
