Jen and I eat salads nearly every day – She’s a health conscious bodybuilder, and I’m a lifelong vegetarian. So when we’re out wine tasting, we try to opt for healthy salads instead of carb-heavy meals (though I’m sorely tempted by the delicious French fries on many Woodinville restaurant menus!)
We thought we’d share some of our favorite salads we’ve enjoyed this summer with you. Can’t wait to see what seasonal salads will be on menus this autumn!
This is the Greek and Grains salad from Purple Cafe. Two kinds of olives – yum! And who doesn’t like goat cheese?
We’re both addicted to the Insalata Avocado salad from Vivi Pizzeria. They provide amazingly generous portions of avocados. I think we’ve each eaten one of these salads every single week for three months!
Jen was amazed at the size of the size of the Fried Chicken Cobb salad over at The Commons. She had to take half of it home (for a grateful, hungry teenager!)
I enjoy the Farro & Goat Cheese salad at The Commons. It features stone fruit (currently nectarines) and maple granola. Love that you can order it in a half size if you prefer.
The Indian Summer salad at Hollywood Tavern offers quinoa, kale, cranberries, roasted onion, goat cheese, and lots of hazelnuts. You can add chicken to it if you like. (The other salad is their Green Goddess, a close runner-up favorite!)
After eating healthy and delicious salads like these, we’re well prepared for vigorous wine tastings and exploring Woodinville shops and tasting rooms!
