I ran over to Purple Cafe Bellevue today to pick up my takeout lunch (Cream of sherry mushroom soup and their Greek & Grains salad). While waiting to pay, I noticed their stack of Cook + Cork books for sale, some autographed.
I’m a huge fan of Purple Cafe restaurants and meant to buy this when it came out last year. I’m glad for the reminder today.
I didn’t feel like hauling a heavy copy back with me to my nearby office at WeWork Lincoln Square, so I might have to order a copy from Amazon or pick up the book on a day I’m not lugging a gigantic laptop around.
The book is coauthored by sommelier Chris Horn (Purple Cafe wine director and Washington State Wine Awards’s Sommelier of the Year for 2015) and Purple Cafe Executive Chef Harry “Coach” Mills.
Cook + Cork offers “frank advice on how to enjoy food and wine in your life every day” and gives “instruction on how to navigate the daunting world of wine stores and restaurant wine lists and gives you the template for what bottles to have on hand at all times.”
